I don't know what to do in this case but to meet up with the guy and try to negotiate?
You should have checked for the damage before you pay him though...lesson learned?

but really, i would only fix the sun roof and rip out the a/c. you dont need a/c in a civic, lol.

If the check hasn't cleared put a stop payment on it. Tell the guy he either takes another $500 off the price or you are not paying him and he can have the car back. For $1300 you'd expect the car to be in better shape mechanically and physically.

That sucks, I would try to contact him. Tell him that the car is not in the condition described, and that you want to contact ebay to reverse the transaction. You don't have money to fix it, etc. Then say "before I go thru all of that I want to give you a chance to settle this by giving me $300 back to go towards repairs"

sorrry man. i was one of xxx that got screwed by a company for stereo equip. ebay pulled their account, but thats it
