But that is the case with any hard to get Japanese wheels such as the SSR Professors
AKH is a decent-sized operation but I'm sure it pales in comparison to Tire Rack. Their headquarters is along the Indiana turnpike which just so happens to be on my way from home to school, and it's freakin huge. Their prices on SSR wheels are consistently like $100 per wheel lower than comparable Japanese brands that are sold by smaller operations.

while this is true...they are still a "dealer" for SSR USA and not solely an importer for SSR Japan. They buy bulk on the readily availble wheels such as the SSR Competition, GT3, GT7..etc. for the US market

For the japanese market wheels, they have to go through an official importer/trader. Thus why the Professor's are "limited". Limited b/c they are special order only through a SSR wholesaler who can get SSR Japan wheels.

 Hotness! (Although I'd tone down the chrome a bit.)

I dig the lip. but I'm not feeling the faux boltheads and the delicate spokes.

MFB, if you're looking for 16" versions of the SP1, you could try Gruppe-S. Though their site doesn't list it, they are able to get the SP1's for you in 16"
