LT, I've likely been through most of everything you might go through with this. I'm still on depression meds. The whole thing with you is, would you have known that you weren't overall happy if you hadn't taken these tests?
Also, depression cannot be helped by just meds or just counseling, it takes both to get the best possible outcome. Granted, the price tag isn't "cheap." However, in my opinion, I'd rather be happy and have a good outlook than nice things. At least then I'd know nice things were coming. *shrug* Just my .02. I know my posting isn't gonna help much, but like I said I've probably been through everything you'll go through. If you have any questions feel free. I'll end the rant now.

My doctor told me a few years ago that I was depressed and tried me on several medications but all of them just made me sick. He eventually just gave me some xanax to mellow me out through the day (nerve problems too). I felt good then. Now I have no insurance or xanax, sucks.

I was diagnosed with depression too about 2 years ago. For the past 7-8 years I've just been feeling run down, no energy, even if I slept 10 hours.
So I went to see a counsellor and they said I had clear signs of depression. They said the death of my parents within such a close time period might have had a bigger impact than I thought. Dad passed away of a heart attack in February 1997 and my mom of cancer in May 1997. My grandmother whom I've always been close to also passed away in December 1996. So within a time span of 6 months I lost 3 people I loved.
So they put me on some meds, but since loosing my job there was no way to pay for it any longer. So now I've been off the meds since February and I definitely have no motivation - unless of course it's about autocrossing or racing.
Make sure you get checked out.

my personal opinion on depression is that it gets thrown around too much. I think with most people it is only temporary. life has ups and downs. nothing is permanent.
I wish i could go somewhere and get some help. My parents last night tried to talk to me and i think they think that im suicidal, cus all i do is go in my room and close my door and dont talk to no one. :dunno:
