Came across this old thread in search of some info, and as an owner of a b16a1, I would just like to say, they exist! 
They're in JDM CRX Si-R's and EDM CRX VT's (chassis code EE8), mine being the latter (I'm from Belgium, so that explains it...
)...

Thank you Tang! I have been in the middle of an ongoing argument about this. My side being that they exhist. I would appreciate it if you could post both an exterior pic of your car and one of the block stamping. I can't wait to rub it in their faces...
