2005 Draft
I'm pro-Draft as well...all my friends scream "I'm going Canadian!" and I roll my eyes. You people expect these freedoms and rights to be yours, however, you wont be any part of fighting for it like the men and women who VOLUNTEER to do it for you.
You lazy pieces of shit.

You should be glad that there are still some people left in this country with the conviction to go out in the streets and be the vocal minority, and actively campaign against what they view as unjust.
I refuse to endorse unethical and immoral actions with compliance, even if it means breaking the law.

Call me a lazy piece of shit if you wish.
I'm not willing to put my life on the line for a cause which I don't necessarily believe in. Do I think that my freedom is being defended by invading Iraq and getting the country into the quagmire it now is? No, I do not.
Before you right wingers start your cries of "support the troops" and whatnot, if that's your response to my comments then you have misunderstood. I support the troops because I want them to get out of harm's way. Disagreeing with the war itself is supporting the troops more than wanting them to be fighting and dieing in what I believe is an unjustified war.
If the time comes when this country is involved in a war that I don't have a significant objection to, then maybe I'd consider joining up.
But until that happens, no thank you.

People who think that Bush is behind there being a draft are complete morons. The democrats in congress have been the ones trying to get draft legislation passed.

Would you pull the trigger? Its a moralistic question, some would say yes because its in the name of the country and others will say no because blood is thicker than anything a country has to offer.
What you have posed has actually happened in the American Civil War. Open a history book and read about it. It was a common occurance that families were divided by the two sides and they fought against eachother.
