No the old vettes had the Lt1 as well........besides the the ZR1 or whatever it was had the LT4. I think thats how it went anyways. The new C6 Corvettes have the LS2 motor in them rather than the C5(97-04) which has the LS1.......they actually ran out of Ls1 blocks for the last few years of Fbodies so u can find quite a few that have the Ls6(z06) block in them

I think the only reason I hate the newer Camaros so much is because of the extreme design change. The Camaro was never suppose to compete in the Vettes world. They started off as two completely different designs and looked nothing like each other.

Then in the 80s they fukked that all up and many people (myself included) see it as the white trash vette. The one for those too poor to afford the real thing and with worse handling and overall performance.

In terms of straight line performance the Z28/SS is pretty close to the regular C5........handling yeah the Vette will straight own it , but the C5 corvette owns a lot in terms of handling. I agree the 80s to early 90s they were pretty ugly and the IROC is a straight up abomination. However I do love the 4th and last generation of Fbodies, I think the trans am ws6 is straight evil looking and I think the SS looks pretty mean itself. I dunno about the too poor comment either.......I owned a Z28 but I could afford a Corvette, in terms of practicality though I didn't get it because no back seat so no more than 2 passengers and insurance was a buttload higher. Also I will say that my Camaro handled a lot better than my civic does in the snow. add some weight in the trunk and a bit more beefier tires........and with all that weight and the LSD it handles actually surprisingly well.

Well in language you can understand easier.....

The Camaro to the Vette is like badging a Civic DX with Type R badges after only swapping a B16 into it.

Thats a pretty good analogy but how come then its so "cool" to buy a civic dx hatch back and do an engine swap but it isn't cool to own the cheaper model with the same engine chevy?
