If you have a car that does not start and you get a new car, your problem solved. Sure the other car doesn't start, but that's not your problem because your car starts fine.

anyone that tells anyone to switch from IE to anything else is only giving them good, sound advice. sure maybe they didn't specifically ask if they should go find a new browser, but dropping IE entirely will fix a LOT of current and future problems that will undoubtably arise and is always a good idea.
there are a lot of good arguments to support firefox > all other browsers. safari is a good candidate, but only if you use OS X. konqueror is also pretty good on linux. but so far firefox has the best blend of user-friendliness, speed, features, compatibility/language-support, cross-platform-compatibility and stability. it's also pretty light and there are so many people developing extensions to make the browser even easier to use and more customizable.
