i don't mean a suicidal entry, it's just that I have this kind of nervous thing where I way overjudge the distance I need based on how fast I'm going all the time.

Slow in, fast out. Brake in a straight line, downshift, back on gas and turn in.

yeah, I don't trail brake
But ideally should you be able to enter at a speed that you maintain until the exit, considering the radius is consistent.
I know you're supposed to leave some marigin of error at the entry.
Do you mean downshift in the turn? I dunno about that. I want the power right back there after entry.

Just keep taking it faster, until you reach your limit...or the limit of your car.

Downshifting and braking at sametime....hence heel toe.

yeah
the other difficult thing is an effective e-braking hairpin.
fast entry, super slow exit.
i've seen footage of this crazy japanese race car driver driving the hell out of a CRX who could rotate it around a cone like a toy.

rotate?
Now that's interesting.
I used to drive my little old prelude like a bat outta hell all the time. I never stopped to break it down like that though.
I would use my e brake to increase my braking capacity. It seemed like the back brakes squeezed harder evan after I let off the handle, until I had totally let off the breaks again.

Like making it turn extremely sharp staying like a couple feet away from the cone and still maintaining speed very well.
