Uhhhh...what does a flywheel have to do with an alternator?



Anyways it does not lead to loss of torque. The thing it does is let your engine rev and lower rpms faster because of the lower amount of rotational mass. One thing you may have problems with though is that when you shut off the engine sometimes the lighter flywheel will not always stop at a gear point for the starter so you will get a quick grind noise once in a while when trying to start. Doesn't happen often but it does happen once in a while.

It's a myth. I've had a 7lb Fidanza flywheel for over 3 years now. Everyone said "It's too light for daily driving, you're crazy, you'll lose so much torque." Besides nitrous, it's the best mod I've done as far as the engine goes.

Oh, and I've never had mine grind while trying to start.
