I've noticed a lot of people feel as though things in their life are perfect because they don't have an SO. I mean, I understand the benefits of being with someone in a relationship, I was in one for a while myself. But what I do not understand is how can that be one of the biggest factors in people being depressed? I know people in my family who are that way too. I mean, my whole outlook on the matter is that you need to be happy with just yourself before you can make another person happy.

Now mind you, I'm not an anti-relationship type of guy. I just don't see why someone needs another person to be completely happy. Discuss. h:

People always want what they can't have. They imagine their lives to be so much better if they've got an SO. I used to be like that but I'm becoming more independant and realizing that I should make myself happy before any girl.

 

I feel ya, I was like that after my relationship ended. Felt like shit and didn't think I could be happy alone. But now, I like how things are going, I do stuff that makes me happy, have good friends, etc.. I know I don't need a girl to make me happy, but having one would be cool. :dunno:

They like the title of SO or a constant companion to always go out instead of their normal clique of friends :dunno:

 

i dont know anybody depressed in a relationship. they are teh happy.
