That counts as part of the spot. Since the sign may be old, Im sure the ticket takes precedence.
MPerson, you picture is pretty much accurate. Its stupid my neighborhood has 10 handicap spots and in the 2 years I have lived here no one has used them, except other people illegally parking because there are no normal spots available. I am going to the court house tomorrow, we will see what happens.
It's probably $100 fine and another $100 in taxes and fee's totalling $200. I know most of your minor traffic violations are a $25 fine with another $75 in crap tacked on. Go to the local magistarte and plead your case, maybe you'll get off with less? Won't cost you anything except time and maybe they'll be simpathetic.
