Workout Crew *Help*
Hey,
So I weigh about 185 and stand about 5'8 or 5'9. Im trying to lose weight and get more fit so I can move up in lacrosse. I usually work out 2-3 times a week doing 12 minutes of paced running which is about 1.25 miles and work out for about 45 minutes of weight lifting. If I want to lose more weight and be in the 165ish range should I change the way I run? Maybe do sprints and such? This is on a treadmill by the way. I mean im decently in shape as my arms are pretty defined I just want to improve my chest, stomach, and get faster. I havent worked out for about 5 weeks because of traveling but im going to get back into it now.
So whats your recomendations on my running and weight lifting? I also wanted to know if you guys recomend those pills that fast up your metabliosm and slow down your need for food? Forgot the name but It has been mentioned before.
Thanks
Jon

If you're playing lacrosse i think you want to run for longer then 12 minutes.
I would guess that endurance would be a good thing.

Oh, and those pills are, well...they're a short cut. Have some pride and do it all on your own, you'll feel better about yourself in the end.

get at least 45 minutes of cardio.

edit: get on the bike after for about 10 minutes, it's good to ease your heart down, and not spike it, when you're trying to strengthen your heart.
I find that the best way to drop pounds by exercise is by doing cardio that uses more than just your legs, ie swimming. Although, if you don't have the endurance to swim for 45 minutes straight, I wouldn't do it. It takes lungs of gold to swim hard for 45 minutes.
I heard rowing is pretty intents too, but I haven't tried it.
Also, as stated above, aviod monotony. Do a different cardio routine for each day of the week that you do cardio. You may also want to do cardio and weightlifting on different days, because they counteract eachother a little bit.
