sounds like you have the cooling situation handled.... I'd also have to go with possible shortage on power.

yeah it's the 9800 that hooks up to the p/s.
i'm willing to bet it's your p/s though. and if your board is older, you should flash the bios. that might help.

Ok I am now down to one hard drive a floppy and a DVD drive...lets see what happens now

Well if I can get the system stable I will flash the bios.

looks like it is the power supply though because I got real close to full boot then the screen started freaking on me giving me some really interesting effects

Looks like I am off to frys for a new supply

gl. i wouldn't jus buy any cheapo one either. get a brand name. quality does matter. Sparkle/Fortron-Source, PC Power and Cooling, Antec, Enermax, or Thermaltake are all good ones.

Thanks for the recommendations...i am searching pricewatch right now for power supplies and was actually going to ask that very question
