Default GSR or 3.2CL Type S

Currently, I'm driving an I4 '99 Mitsubishi Galant ES, and naturally I want to upgrade.

I've found 2 Acura's for what I consider a very reasonable price despite the mileage.

Choice #1
'01 Integra GSR
$14,000
89,000 Miles
Red (I hate tickets)

Choice #2
'01 3.2CL Type S
$14,000
114,000 Miles
White (Not quite as sporty a color)

Now, I know the 3.2CL is faster, and currently I don't know how to drive a stick (But oh, how I want to!). The 3.2CL seems more like a daily driver, not to mention all the crap it comes with.

The GSR. Its an Integra... Always had respect, and a part of me has always wanted one, or something similiar. Now I have the chance. Not to mention it has 25k miles less than the 3.2CL.

So my questions come down to:
-Which would you recommend? (I know there will be bias since this IS the Integra forum)
-How do the 2 compare in gas mileage?
-Will the high mileage on either car adversly affect the performance? (Honda is renowned for thier reliability)
-How easy is it to find aftermarket parts for each ride?

Both cars are from the same dealership and have been thoroughly checked for problems.

IMHO they are two totally different cars. Do you want a "sporty" car or a "luxury" car. What are you plans as far as modding? What type of driving do you do?

aftermarket will be much wider for the gs-r

go with the gs-r regardless, being red doesnt get you tickets, it gets you noticed. getting noticed while you're doing something wrong will get you tickets.

i have a red integra, ive gotten one ticket since i bought it and it was a stupid no front license plate ticket

The GSR definitely gets better mileage and theres a much larger aftermarket for it. it also weighs a lot less which makes it a lot more fun to drive. if you want luxury, go with the 3.2CL. if you want a small, fun car, get the integra.

I would go with the GSR for one thing 114,000 miles is a lot, even though it is an Acura, I think you could get either car for less than $14,000 though because of the higher mileage on them and they are at a dealership (might be able to get it for $12,000). The GSR gets way better gas mileage than the CL because it has a 4cyl, compared to the CL's 6cyl and the GSR is a lot lighter. If you plan on Modding then you definitely have to go with the GSR. I was thinking of getting a 98-99 CL a while ago and found that there are almost no aftermarket parts for it. Pretty much all you can do is intake, exhaust and, ECU. I think there is only one, two at the most, body kits made for it. You can also check out Acura-CL.Com they can probably answer a lot of your questions about the CL

i would not let the CL's mileage be a deterrant. 114k is just getting started...

Thanks for all the replies and advice.
I'm still not 100% on which one I'll choose. About modding, I'm strapped for cash. Probably the only things I'll be able to afford are intake and exhaust.

I completely agree, the GSR would be so much more fun to drive. But 0-60 in 6.5 stock also attracts my attention. And a CAI could help it on the high-end. I have a feeling it will boil down to my parents.

I can get about $2,500 TI off my dad's old van, and let him have the Galant (since it technically is his car). So that should help the price a little.

Last question:
How is the leg/headroom in the GSR? I'm a 6'1" guy and I was horribly cramped in my aunt's civic. I would go and see myself, but the dealership is about an hour and 30 mins away.

Well DANGIT!!!

I just went back and checked the website, and the GSR is no longer listed. I assume its been sold. :madfawk:

EDIT:
Well, there are still quite a few GS and LS left. Would looking at one of them be worth it? I'll find a good one and post it up on here for opinions.

'99 Integra LS
$12,000
43,000 miles
Silver (Nice color)

My main question is what's the differance between LS and GS.
How would an LS perform? 0-60 times?

Would you still recommend it over the CL? (Yes, I know they're completely differant.)
