In NY now they have a camera that records all inspections. As soon as they boot up the comp a camera starts rolling. Makes it harder to get bootleg inspections but I have my ways if I want to. No need to though at this point in time.

 

PA has em statewide now, but the statewide emissions test minimum is only a simple visual inspection really. They make sure your intakes is all there and has a filter, you have a full exhaust with a cat and they do a gas cap inspection. It's really pretty stupid, and this new emissions test costs about twice what a regular inspection does.

For anyone that doesn't have to get their car inspected till oct, nov or dec ... it's very possible they never heard about this. I didn't hear about it till just about a month ago.

 

I just got my new (well, old it's a '90) 240sx inspected a couple of weeks ago and they didn't hassle me about anything. I gotta take my coupe in this week and it get it inspected as well. I'll see if they say anything this time.

I realize saftey inspections are nessicary but I spend enough time under and around my car that I know if something is going bad or failling. I like the fast, or shitplace, inspection because it's simply less of a hassle.
