Help
its just precautionary maint. not like something is gonna go wrong if you take it in..... thats all.... i reset mine everytime it comes on.... my car has 218k and still hasnt come back to haunt me....
ok, i'm not trying to be mean or anything. but you seem to be a little naive.
So, here are some tips...
1. DONT TRUST THE DEALERSHIP
2. THE MAINT. REQUIRED LIGHT IS A SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE LIGHT. (if you question this, look it up in your manual, it will tell you exactly what we're saying)
3. IF YOU ASK THE DEALER TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OK WITH YOUR CAR, WHILE ACTING LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING, THEY MIGHT JUST RIP YOU OFF.
What year is your car, and how many miles do you have on it? I have a 98 integra with 125,000 miles on it. the only problems i've had are my antenna and a window switch. I could use a valve job and i'm getting my timing belt replaced today just in case. But other than that...NO PROBLEMS. You have a good car that requires little to no maintance if you take care of it. Of course there is a lot you can learn from your manual. You don't have to follow it strictly, but it is a good guideline.

I probably am being a bit dramatic-but I feel I have good reason to. I have had for the last year a car I thought would be no problems and reliable. The first time I take it to the dealership the light comes on less then 7 days out. I think it is a good move to post a request for any helpful input from some others who have more knowledge then myself. My car is a 2003 Honda Civic. I has been an excellent ride and still is. I don't want to comprimise its mechanics by over looking a pop up light. Thanks to all who had input. It was very nice for you to take the time to reply.
