GO GO GO. Everybody that I have ever talked to that visited Japan loved it.

My friend spent a year there two years ago as an exchange student. She just went back for another month--she loves it.

Just hitching a thought...but isn't English the most known language of the world? Like, it is the most taught language to be a second language?

I got into the program at University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia when I was in school. I also needed a car at the time, so I had to make a choice. I went with the car. I've made it a point to go to Australia at least once in my life, but I guess I'll never get back the chance to be there as a college student again

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I'm pretty sure I could find a part of town where there are English speaking people. Where I live, there are alot of kids from Poland and Russia who come here to work, and after talking to a couple of them, I'm under the impression that English is somewhat a global language.

After doing some more research I have found out that there is absolutely nothing stopping me from going. There are a couple extra fees, like application fee ($200) and health insurance ($150), but other than that it is just airfare and tuition (same as what I'm paying now). You have to be atleast a sophmore and have attended atleast one semester at the school I am going to. The college I would be attending in Japan is in Tokyo, called Sophia University, and has a required gpa of 3.3. International students can come in either for the spring semester or for the full year. I am a transfer student, going into my sophmore year at North Carolina State and am planning on going my spring semester, so I will have one semester under my belt.

Did she speak any Japanese when she went? Do you know if she found English speaking people there?
