i'd take it just to go 5k mph. not that it would feel any different from 70.

that would also solve the heat build up issue. heat build up is the main reason why the chunnel trains can't go faster than 60mph (or was it 70mph) in the chunnel. they already have gigantic AC units cooling the tunnel.

i would definitely have to experience that kind of travel!

they put a scenario in 2099...i don't think i'll be living past Oct 24, 2029 (when that asteroid is suppose to collide with the earth)

it would need some hugeass air-locks. i want one of those ACs in my room.. its sweltering.

est cost.......trillions - 1,000 trillions.

yes a vacuum will take away air resistance, therefore almost "pulling" the train through the tunnel @ speeds of ~5K miles/hour. it would have gradual acceleration for the first and last 750 miles.

oh and if anything were to collide with the tunnel, they said the train would be miles away from the point of impact because of such high-speed.
