how far underwater is it? cus atlantic is not just one flat bottom there is going to be huge drops and moutains and stuff how will they keep it up?

steel tethers in the ocean floor will keep it suspended underwater.

5K mile/hour top speed, gradual acceleration...54 minute trip from NYC to London !!!!

what about subs. can't hit any of the tethers? what if all the blue whales in the world hit one tether at the same time. wouldnt it pull down the tunnel in that one section? are the tethers thick enough for sonar to detect?

did you even watch it?

there will be sonar beacons 2 miles away from the tunnel. any ship/marine life would be detected. if a sub were to endanger the tunnel, the tethers in the endangered region would slacken to allow absorption of impact.

i'm sure such a system would have very high security.

No way in hell you are going to get me to go through that thing.

Underwater earthquakes happen all the time and I can just see a bomb going off midway through the tunnel or a collapse of some sort. Just an accident waiting to happen.
