STi > WRX > SRT-4 > EVO

I'm sorry, but I've just seen too many EVO's with ridiculous quality problems, performance be damned.

Plus I think they're ugly. :happysad:

Sarcasm aside, I actually have.

Premature clutch wear and shitty paint are the two main problems.

Okay, I haven't SEEN the premature clutch wear.

:chuckles:

Honestly I don't expect much of paint jobs these days. Say in the last 10 years or so when a switch to water based paint was made, the paint quality went to the toilet.

My friend had to replace his clutch with 25K miles but then again he autoxes his car and does so very successfully. He is going to nationals this year.

There's a mild difference between quality and durability.

My main gripe is durability. The application is fine.

I have a friend who has a friend who has an Evo h: and his paint peels, LITERALLY. He's complained to Mitsubishi a number of times and all they offer is touchup paint and consider it a "wear item."

I've seen other similar complaints elsewhere.

Plenty of companies make cars that use water based paint that is durable. There is no excuse for a poorly painted car--other then poor workmanship, bad materials, and poorly designed or outdated factories.
