weight reduction
Just curious as to whether I'm the only crazy person always looking for stuff to rip out of his car.
So far I've removed
Big piece of rear sound deadening
Cigarette lighter and ashtray, related hardware
Driver's side floor mat (mostly because it pisses me off how it slides around)
A/C compressor, all lines up to the firewall, condensor, and A/C fan on the radiator.
New header is lighter than the old one.
Intake tube that sucks air by the top of the radiator, rubber piece that splits the flow between that and the intake resonator which is also removed (had no idea my intake could sound so throaty and motorcycle-like
)
Huge friggin bracket that bolted to the bottom of the intake manifold that was like 18 inches long the held up the stock header.
That's all I can remember for now, there might be a couple other little things.
Next thing is to start attacking more of the sound deadening :exnbp:
I had the spare and stuff out because that was getting me nervous because I don't have a cell. :ugh:

and what is the point? I'd rather keep all that stuff for a street car. No point really unless you are buidling a hard core track car.
BTW how much do you weigh? if you are over weight you can lose some weight to further reduce the overall weight of the car.

h:......take out all the carpeting...door panels.... headliner....speakers....gut the trunk as much as possible.... windshield wipers...windshield wiper fluid container...
and then you'll have a nice light weight car that will rattle, look stolen, deter females, attract cops and racerboys, freeze in the winter, and bake in the summer.

Lightweight wheels. My wheels weigh 10.5lbs. My OEM wheels were 16lbs.
Aftermarket seats. Corbeau Forenza IIs are 15lbs. OEM seats are around 35-45lbs.

I've thought of that though but that's hard.
h:I guess your right but I'm just trying to get as much weight as possible off the front end to help adress the understeer. The a/c was dead anyways the other little interior shit was just out of boredom.
