you should tell someone. take a look at what your friend is going through. you already missed a chance to stop something horrible from happening, dont miss the 2nd chance.

and plus, your boss is threatening you? fawk that, that in itself would be enough for me to take a stand.

Just from what you've said it sounds like they care more about getting the job done, than the safety of their employees. If that's the case you need to say something. They are trying to blackmail you, and they should be kissing your ass. When applying for another job I would list coworkers (that are friends) as refrences, and not your old manager. I encourage you to speak out.

that is a lawsuit for slander/libel(whichever is applicable) that will have any lawyer jumping to represent you.
