A few years back I knew this group of girls... about 5 or 6... they all got beetles within about 5 months of each other. They all had serious problems costing them $1-2k within the first 3 months. Not the same problem either... I'd say they just got a shitty batch... but 3 of them were from dealers 50 miles away.

Everyone with a VW I know has a had a serious problem with theirs before 100K miles with the exception of 1. So that's like 19 out of 20. If I buy a car I expect nothing more than routine maintenance up to 100K miles. Guess I'd better stick with Honda's.
