torture
Ugh...I read like 1/4 of that, skimmed another...saw the story on the news earlier, this shits rediculous, I don't really see a need for it, what exactly is it that torture is going to get us? This whole war on terror has seemed somewhat rediculous since it started!
seriously though. we're never gunna win. seems terrorist attacks have grown 100 fold since the "war on terror" started. lets jus bring ALL our troops home and build a giant wall around the US.

I, for one, believe we will win. I have no doubt we will win, we just have to stick to our guns and work hard at it; we have to force change and if there is a lack of willingless to change a mindset, then we will fight until they do.

"Win?"
:sigh:
The scariest part of this article is Bush reserving the right to suspend US law, and the Geneva convention. The geneva convention exists to protect BOTH sides tropps, when they are captured. Here is a little timeline for you.
Thomas Hamill, a Halliburton Truck Driver is kidnapped. Later he escapes his captors, and reports he was well fed, provided medical care, and in good health.
Prison abuse scandal in Abu Gharib, photos all over the press.
Nick Berg is captured and beheaded.
The US has a huge public perception problem right now, and that is a REAL problem. We have lost credibility on the international stage as we made a grab for Iraqs oil under the pretenses of seizing destroying WMD, and they alledged link with Al-Queda.
Flirting with torture is going to be paid back unto us, perhaps 10X. Putting OUR SOLDIERS lives and well-being in danger.
The arab community, a portion of which is illitirate, uneducated sees all these things giong on, and they react emotionally.
We have the highest level of the goverment condoning torture here. And we're going to court martial and ruin the lives of some of OUR soldiers, who were able to do what they did because of the enviornment that was cultivated.
What happened to supporting our troops?
