turn key...put in reverse...and i try not to shift past 3.5k. but its kinda hard considering my commute to work is 4.8 miles of STEEP uphill after turning out my driveway.

warming up the car is dumb imo

it should only be done:

1) if you are not carburated
2) if you are in cold weather

otherwise you are wasting gas

I'd rather be safe than sorry. With my H22 nicely warmed up I can hit Vtec without worrying about anything.

btw, an engine warms up faster when driven sensibly after start up, instead of idling. cmon, i thought u guys were car enthusiasts (save for a few of you)

You guys do realize most modern cars will restrict you from stretching its legs before normal operating temps and variables are in range? Uuuuh a good example would be that VTEC thingie that's in 'some' Hondas.

Just start up the car, don't waste your time idling, drive and upshift whenever you can so you can put more load on the engine, thus increasing the operating temperatures.
