Yeah I own my automatic like that too h: I can pretty much shift when and where I want to by throttle pressure.

I usually let it warm up til the idle drop to normal, then about a mile or two down the road it's at OT.

i usually just drive until the car is at operating temp, making sure i stay below 3krpm

best way is to drive it keeping the rpm's as low as possible

Dont you have to warm up an engine if it has forged internals and an aluminum block, because of the difference in the rate of expansion/contraption?

no warming up. just drive under 3K RPM till its warm then do whatever. Besides if you are ruining your engine just by driving it without warming up first then it sucks lol. By the time your engine wears out from doing just that its probably time to overhaul it anyway.
