Arab is no more a slur than Black, Puerto Rican, Mexican, Guyanese, etc, etc are. As was already said, if those were Black People, Puerto Rican, Mexican, etc, and "Stupid Blacks, etc " was posted as the thread title, what would the reaction be?

I guess you dont understand that sometimes how words are used is as important if not more important than the words themselves.

Who here has not heard someone refer to themselves as black, Puerto Rican, etc??? I hear it; all the time.

How many people would be using the same logic that guys in this thread are suing towards another ethnicity??? Saying "well they are doing something stupid, and they are Black, Puerto Rican, Guyanese, Mexican, etc, sooooo.... Stupid _______" I KNOW that those terms would not be used as easliy or readily as Arab.

Nice try, but how about you let people who are somewhat affected by statements determine how offensive they are instead of telling them how to take things. Political correctness sucks, we americans look like jackasses to other countries, why not actually BE jackasses so the rumor can be true, hell, we've got nothing to lose, we're already branded as such. Just be a total jackass by not having political correctness.

Just as a side note: who cares what you call them, it's just a god damn name, names don't hurt people, so I don't know why blacks find it offensive to call them the "n" word.....hell, 99% of them use the word amongst themselves anyway...can anyone say RAP. I don't see a black guy getting offended by a black rapper saying that word.

IMO: political correctness sucks, but certain derogatory words such as the "n" word, and possibly a few others have deeper meanings and as such, shouldn't be used, HOWEVER, I don't think that that gives everyone the right to say "ohhh my god, JAP! OH NO! we can't call them japs" or "OH MY GOD IT"S AN ARAB" HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, who gives a god damn ****.

No offense, but Iranians are not arab. They are in general either Turks or Kurds who speak Farsi.

The peoples refer to themselves as Arabs, you're right. Usually the word Arabian refers to someone who lives on the peninsula itself, or to a subject of the al Saud.

We're all special...and we're all worthy of consideration.
