Perhaps. I sincerely apologise for whatever lack of understanding I might evince, but hasten to point out that I agree the title was unwisely phrased.

I might have a shadow of an understanding, because I am a child of the Commonwealth and because I have many Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Arab, Sikh, Indian and Malay employees.

In fact, my chief lieutenant is a North African Arab.

I might have the shadow of an understanding but, you're right, I have not personally experienced the prejudice and could only imagine it based on what I have been told by my companions and subordinates.

 

I already know that, but like I said, if any other ethnicity was substituted for Arab, this thread would not have been posted. The way things are now, Arabs are a convenient, and for the most part widely acceptable target. :sad:

To be honest, if we were to role-play here and involved some African tribesman doing the same thing in a VW bus in the middle of Johanesburg, I would have probably said Stupid Africans. Anything else would have probably gone over a bit worse.

This is just simply two different outlooks on life meshing in an online forum. Nothing wrong with that. I would actually welcome a friendship with someone of Arabian origin, but my daily activities do not privy me to that.

In fact, I did have a drafting class in high school with an Iranian. His name was Nima, and we always called him Nemo for laughs! Good times! :chuckles:
