the details of the accident aren't really important... he was at fault no charges or citations... but he hit a 2004 Impala, and the only damages where a dent to the hood and the headlight was cracked, the headlight worked, and all that was needed was a housing

the lady he hit calls up and tells him its gonna cost $1500 for the headlight adn $2200 for the hood (if it needs replaced) i thought theses figures where a total rip off... does anyone know if this is possible

 

Umm yeah, no hood costs 2200 dollars. Besides, he shouldn't be dealing with the lady, he should be dealing with the insurance company...thats whack.

he has insurance... but she said she would try and be nice and avoid him making an insurance claim

 

So why is she calling him?

Her insurance company should be calling his insurance company and they should have nothing more to say to each other.

 

she's basically blackmailing him...they keep it away from the insurance company, but meanwhile this lady makes a nice profit off of a kid who doesn't want his insurance rates to go up.

 

this is what insurance is for.. to prevent stuff like that. i assume insurance was avoided for some reason?

2004 impala headlight costs 400 and hood painted is 600. Thats 1000 at most. Your friend is being ripped off!

he should ask for estimate papers, like where she got these numbers from...
