Why do CDs get scratched...

Default Why do CDs get scratched...

...when they're in CD cases. I'm not talking about the jewel cases they come in, I mean those cases you can buy that hold 10, 26, 98 CDs or whatever. You'd think they'd make the damn things so they wouldn't **** up the CDs.
I was going through all my old CDs so I can encode them into MP3, so I can make MP3 CDs...and most of them are too scratched up to copy. :madfawk:

The smoothest thing in the universe on record are the mirrors on the hubble telescope and even the most miniscule dust particle glyding by can scratch them

Well, dust can be from rocks, and the surface of the mirror is only silver, so go figure.

The quality of cd's these days just suck so that you have to keep on replacing them. :sqfawk:

Yeah...I think they make them cheaper now. The first CD I ever bought (back in '94) is still unscratched. :eh:
