As I look around my room and see how much stuff I now have. IM getting scared because fire season is here. And I live in the sticks in a high fire danger area. IM looking at buying renters insurance anyone in cali have any pointers? I figure I own about $30,000 worth of stuff. IM getting scared the brush is dry as **** :nervous: and IM sure some goat roper will hop on a riding lawn mower and burn it down soon.

Well I don't know about Cali... but over here in northern PA my gf and I just got some renters insurance. I think it was for $50,000 property and $100,000 life for like $139/year.

I'd say it's worth it.

LOL, for my university earthquakes class, we had a group project to do about the apartment owner and earthquakes. While doing my research, I learned all about renter's insurance, something I never knew about. Also, do you live in a high earthquake area? If so, and there's an earthquake and your renter's insurance policy doesn't have earthquake coverage, you're screwed. Also, sometimes, they decutible is so high, you can have the insurance, have an earthquake, and still be short in damages to recieve any money from the insurance company. Okay, I'll stop re-telling my presentation, LOL....

It's about $100/yr if you have an apartment. Yea, get on your folk's home/car insurancy policy if possible and you can get a major discount.

My sister's apartment got struck by lightning. :ugh: Top floor is torched and everything under it is soaked. Insurance put her up in a hotel until they find another place etc. I just got renters insurance from the same agency I get car insurance. it's like $120/year which is obviously $10/month which is very cheap.
