also, in the books, the army of the dead never went to minas tirith. As they were coming out of the Paths of the Dead, they ran across the corsair fleet at the mouth of the river. the army destroyed everyone on the ships and then Aragorn released them. so in reality, the victory at minas tirith wasnt that easy.
