I'd love to do all this stuff, but I just need to get past the logon screen. Even in safe mode I'm thrown there. Woong, I still have my disc but thanks anyways.

 

boot from XP cd and reinstall the OS while retaining your files?

basically you are just booting from the XP cd, when you come to this screen:


remember to choose the first option, NOT the "repair" option.

then a couple screens later, you will run into this:


and in choosing the "repair" option, it will replace corrupted files. i cant say that itll solve your problem, but :dunno: just a suggestion i guess.
