I can guarantee that if the draft is re-instated it won't be until after the elections..because if he re-instates the draft he will most definately not be re-elected. It just seems like those who want to dodge the draft dont support the military..and like I said just because the reasons are shit doesn't mean you should look down on those who are doing their job..fighting for your country.
How can you fight for a cause you don't believe in? And don't say "fight for your country" because some of us don't believe that that's what it is.

Shiat, I'm in Iraq right now and it's been quiet for a while... Maybe it'll have blown over by the time they plan to put the idea into motion... Now watch, we get a mortar attack tonight. That would suck...

I don't agree with sending people to do this duty either. It was completely my choice. Leading Marines that didn't enlist because they wanted to will create a HUGE leadership issue on our part. By the time the draft hits if it even does, I may be a Sergeant... I'd be really frustrated if I had to deal with Marines like that. Even in a non combat environment.

They're recalling over 120,000 soldiers who are inactive, heck just in CA alone they're recalling some 7,500 men & women. The reservists are already in Iraq...and a lot of them are due to come back and get out of the reserves. I think they should bring back the draft, and I hope they do. I know this will probably start an "I Hate Meg" thread but I personally don't think that it's fair to recall men & women who have already served their country and put in their time; draft people who haven't. that's my $.02 and you can disagree with it all you want...but I can't stand those people who say they will try to dodge the draft if it came around..I have family in the military and as much as I may disagree with the reasons we are in Iraq the point is we're there and we need soldiers.
You go Meg the whole reason I got out is because I don't believe in what america is doing in Iraq. Now I have a great chance that after I served my 4 years I get to get back in and go to Iraq oh the joy. I say to hell with that just draft overpriveleged stuck up mofo's.

Drafting WOMEN is just moraly wrong. The majority of the women in the us would probably agree that they don't need to be equal in this manner. Just couse some butches decided they want to go to war and blow stuff up doesn't mean the rest of them want to be drafted. As far as men it sux but we have to deal with it if it happens.

I can always go to Poland if the need arrives, but then I would have to dodge the mandatory 2 years of army there. College would be the best way out there.
