u signed a contract, thats your ass. If I was sent to Iraq there would be nothing for me to fight for except for staying out of jail. Its not fighting for our country if this war doesn't do any damn good for our country. Country and governmnet are two different things. The governmnet is not the United States of America or the country we fight for IMO. Its just a group of ppl that decide what to do and that group keeps changing over time. A country will always be there.

Why is it more right to draft men that don't want to go than to draft women who don't want to go? **** that, if we're equal, then we're equal in everything, not just when it suits the women.

I don't support the military leadership in any way. We don't have any goddamn business taking over any county we feel like (Iraq) and I'm not going to risk getting blown up or shot for anything I don't believe in. If they want to send more people over there, they should draft people who support the cause, not me. That said, I support individual soldiers. They have a good job, and fight for what they believe in. More power too them.

F that, if women want equal rights, they have an equal right to get drafted and step on a landmine just like any man in the US does. They can't just have a free ride on the advantages and none of the disadvantages..

I'd be happy to go back to my family roots in Poland and serve a couple years in the army there. They are smart enough to use Kalashnikov pattern rifles and mind there own damn political business.

Kai: Actually if you went into the Polsih army you would most liely serve some time in Iraq. Poland is in the war as well and they have a zone of influence somewhere in Iraq.

i can't believe you guys think women should be drafted.

I don't think anybody should be drafted, but if men are, then women should be as well. Unless they want to give up their right to vote and all become housewives again.

Forcing men (and women) that don't want to fight TO fight is the WORST IDEA IN HISTORY. See how well it worked for Iraq? Squadrons of soldier laying down thier weapons at the first sight of US troops.

I feel the need to throw my 2 cents in here.

I personally am against the draft. I will admit, it scares the $#!+ out of me, simply because of the fact that I am a 24 year old with a 3 1/2 year old daughter and I don't want her to grow up without her father because "W" took a cue from daddy and decided to finish what daddy didn't just to increase his approval rating. Feel free to flame me, I don't give a F***, it's my opinion and I feel it is just.
