so the impact from my feet "stabbing" at the ground when i run doesnt have anything to do with it?

Us unfortunate people tend to fatigue more than normally arched people. It's hard for me to stand in one place, I have to either constantly move around or sit down. It sucks ass.

Everyone gets shin splints, from the repeated stress you put on your legs if you normally don't run.

While most people with flat feet (25% of Americans) don't have a problem, flat feet can cause disabling foot pain as well as knee pain, shin splints, achilles tendonitits and plantar fasciitis.

A natural arch in the foot cause the ankles and knees to be properly aligned. If you lack that by being flat footed, it can cause ankle, knee, and back problems. Wearing arches generally belps with that.

my feet are arched and i get shin splints w/in 10 minutes of jogging.
