Default Poor Accord...but rather funny story...

I was talking with this Honda Sales guy today and he was telling me the story of how his accord went up in smoke...literally. He was noticing his 1997 Accord EX (w/ leather) was running kinda funny so he had it brought around and the mechanics replaced his 02 sensor. Well about a week later it was running strange and so the mechanics determined it was dirty EGR passages. They spent an hour or so and cleaned them out. Well after he picked his car up from service he went to get some gas. After he filled up, and started to drive away, he heard a loud explosive noise. He got out of the car just in time to watch the car burn to the ground. Me thinks one of the technicians didnt do something right... needless to say, he's ordering a new accord...

Well there's nothing left of the car really, I can call up the sales guy again in a couple days and ask if he found out what happened.

Well I'm interested to know what it was... it would have to be something that either sparked or got super super hot near something that was flameable. Besides some of the fluids in the engine, there's not much that I can see that would be enough to really catch fire, let alone sustain a fire so that it takes out the rest of the car.... :dunno:
