Mr. Clean auto dry system
h: IMO all the hype is on the drying and not the actual cleaning. I recently purchased it hoping that it would make the wash faster... unfortunatly for me it did not. If anything it just complicated things. The soap in my opinion is fairly weak at removing any type of grim or bird droppings completely. It seems that its more geared towards 'drying spot free' then actually hardcore cleaning. After using 2/3 of the starter bottle of soap I gave up and used the trusty heavy duty concentrate car wash soap and bucket. After taking car of all the grim on my car i used what was left of the Mr. Clean soap to respray and wipe the car (since the soap and final rinse work together to provide the 'spot free shine'). The product did work as promised in drying spot free but now it seems that in the sun there is some type of residue left on the paint and windows from the soap.
Its not very noticable but it just annoys the hell out of me that it took twice the time it would normally wash my car (since i had to use the concentrate soap after trying twice with the Mr. Clean soap) just so I wouldn't have to towel dry it. Keep in mind that my car is Black and everything is very visible so peeps with lighter colored cars probably won't notice this problem. Conclusion: The soap used in Mr. Clean Auto-dry car wash is good for only cleaning off light dirt and slight residue might be visible on dark colored cars.
Anyone else have any comments on this product? I admit that if I had a light colored car I would have given this product a better review (Since I would probably not have noticed the residue... and yes I washed the car like four time and rinsed it constantly.)
I heard one good review on it, went looking for it and the store that carried it was always sold out so I thought it had potential. Just wanted to try it out more then anything i quess.
h: Its still a decent product for light touch-up washes on lighter colored cars.
Black cars are just more demanding in car care.

One thing with the Mr. Clean system is that the Mr. Clean soap leaves a thin polymer coating on the paint that makes the water sheet off. If you use it, you will experience a 'no beading' effect on the car, that is why. I wouldn't recommend using the soap. Just use your own car wash instead. Who wants an extra polymer coating that may make the paint look dull?

In reading all of this I'm confused... you guys are going to all this trouble just to avoid drying the car?? (I believe the main point of the system is the "don't have to dry it") Does it really take that long to dry your car by hand? I wipe mine down with a synthetic chamois in about 5 minutes, tops...
Just curios... or am I missing something?
