yeah i would defently try a full format and reinstall of XP but wait a few days before you put your files back on so you can see if it was a file issue or a Hardware issue.
I just called WD, they asked for the serial # that i dont have at the moment, but they said SMART error messages are good indication to replace drive. It also should have a 3 year warranty so as soon as i get home i'm gonna get teh serial number and get an RMA! sweet thanks guys!
