finally cleaned it and messed with the G3 (56k no soup for you)
Just a little chunky on some of the gradations. :dunno: I've seen it before on some pictures I took of my black car reflecting a sunset. I dunno how to avoid it but maybe rick or some other photo guys do.

can't be avoided. i would not say the pic is grainy just because of those two sections.
grainy pic = the whole pic is grainy.
that could be caused by noise but then again knowing asiandooods paint (which has metal flakes in it), that could be it.
lastly I'm betting that he shranked the pic for posting on the web which will cause exactly what you see in the section you highlighted.

grainy pictures are caused by noise in higher ISO settings in real film such as 400 and above. and it will be found throughout the picture...not just sections.
as rick said, it is probably the JPEG compression from being a 3 megabyte picture to a 500kb picture that is causing gradation on high resolution monitors.
