****tard of the day
(this is my third time trying to post this,
)
so as some of you may know, NJ is one of the states where all gas stations are full service. as you also may know, it is against the law there to pump your own gas (not to mention stupid, why the hell would you get out of your car if you don't have to?)
well, i'm sitting at the pump and this guy pulls up, sticks his credit card in the machine, and tries to pump his own gas. not to mention he's leaving his car running. he realizes its not going to work, yells to the attendant that his card is in the machine and he's ready to get filled up. the attendant says "i see that," and the guy walks off. I'm shaking my head at the guy, and the attendant walks over to me. I'm like, "what a dumbass," and the attendant tells me that just cost the guy $3,000. at first i thought he was screwing around, but then he goes on to explain that its a $500 fine for leaving your engine running, $300 for talking on your cell phone at the pump (which he was also doing), and $1500 for both the driver and the station, but since it wasn't the gas station's fault the guy gets to pay all of it. I just laughed and told the attendant good luck in telling him :rofl: i didn't stick around to see what happened.
i would like to give a thumbs up to this douchebag, who broke pretty much every single law you can break at a gas station :thumbup:

i'm not sure how they give out the fine, they might just get his plate number down.
i did something similar once. the attendant was taking forever and im pretty sure he forgot about how the nozzle was still in my car. well i had already paid, so i got out and hung up the nozzle, put the cap back on my car, and started to drive off. as i take off, i see him come running out and i just look and laugh at him and wave. Maybe next time he won't assume it takes 15 minutes to fill my car with gas... jackass
