Default Why are people stupid?

LOL so my friend calls me up today and goes "why did this brush i got for cleaning my rims scratch the hell out of them?" i'm like "well is it made for it?" she goes "ya its a tire brush" so i walk over there and its a friggin wire ass brush and she scratched the living hell out of her rim

why are people so damn stupid? is there anyway to get those out or is she pretty much screwed.

Take the wire brush away from her. Then have the rims sandblasted and powdercoated some decent shade of silver. That's the best soution I can think of in terms of durability and cost.

wire brush used for cleaning tires? cant u just use some soap and a sponge and shine it up with some tire dresser.

I dunk a terri cloth into soap and water and clean them that way. Stupid n00bs.

well she had some rim cleaning spray shit like 409 bottle ya know? just for some reason thought the toothbrush would clean it better

any cheaper way sandpaper or something? she can't afford to sandblast it

Sandblasting the metal is the only way to get the impurities out before powdercoating. Sandpaper will introduce more carbide and emery into the surface of the rim, plus it will take forever to get down to raw metal, which is what the powdercoat epoxy bonds to when cured.. if you want to get your money's worth, you can't half-ass your prep work.

If she can't afford to sandblast & powder coat, I suppose she could hand-sand them and paint them...but again, it sounds like she'll need a hell of a lot supervision to ensure a quality finished product.

First off, she needs to learn the proper way to wash a car IMO. h:

old toothbrush thats what i use a firm one cuz they get soft fast they make the white lettering stick out on the truck tires and i think the tire shine looks better after a good brushing and the rims done have any spots from really caked on gook

that's how i do it too. except i usually keep water running over them as i'm wiping them down.

I got one of the OXO™ GoodGrips wheel brushes, or moreover, recieved one for a birthday present. h: A very nice soft-ish bristled brush, with a long enough handle and big enough bristle head to get wheels clean fast. Of course, some wheels are just a PITA to clean as a result of their design..
