I wonder what he would do if he was in office when 9/11 happened. I bet he wouldn't do anything about it.

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece?

Naturally, the common people don't want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.

That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

I'll tell you who said it tomorrow night.

I have an idea he would have went into mild isolationism, which in fact i think this country needs. I.E. Vietnam. I think America is a Huge bully because yes we have the best military, and by-far the best lives, we have laxed laws, and this is probably the only country in the world that will parole a serial killer.

I love America don't get me wrong, but i see so many things that need improving, and our money could be better spent helping OUR country, and not other countries. WE have dying and starving people too.

Saddam Hussein has been acting very shady over the issue of nuclear warfare and chemical weapons. If we dont take action and wipe out his arsenal of weapons, then he could pose a threat to our allies around him. We have practiced isolationism during the Beginning of the 20th century. World War II started because we didnt take action early enough to take out Hitler before he gained he became influential over all of Europe. We should look at past experiences and learn from them.

If we got rid of Saddam's tyrannical dictatorship, then we would be aiding a portion of the Middle East. Most of Iraq is still in the 2nd stage of Demographic Transition. Perhaps, if we intervened, we could get it to Stage 3 more easily. We have many categorical grants and programs to aid poor people in our country, unlike other 3rd wolrd nations. We have the richest country in the world and the most powerful army. It's our job to promote peace and keep things under control. Its like the gospel of wealth in a larger scale.

Here's the answer to the quote I posted in here last night:

- Hermann Goering, Luftwaffe Commander, Nuremberg Trials 1946

Here's another quote, try and guess the author, here's a hint the writer has written several books:
========================================

The loud little handful - as usual - will shout for the war. The pulpit will - warily and cautiously - object... at first. The great, big, dull bulk of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes and try to make out why there should be a war, and will say, earnestly and indignantly, "It is unjust and dishonorable, and there is no necessity for it."

Then the handful will shout louder. A few fair men on the other side will argue and reason against the war with speech and pen, and at first will have a hearing and be applauded, but it will not last long; those others will outshout them, and presently the antiwar audiences will thin out and lose popularity.

Before long, you will see this curious thing: the speakers
stoned from the platform, and free speech strangled by hordes of furious men...

Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those
conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception.

Something to think about, brought to you by the OLDMAN.

I'm very much a democrat, and don't often agree with the republican issues. But i will admit that i don't follow politics too closely.
