what are your thoughts on them?

I pass by several of the same ones on Rockville Pike everyday and it pisses me off.

The only time i give them change is when they look like they're going to mess with my car.

i wish they would all just get a damn job

 

on another note, i've heard they can make upward to $20/hr.

Down in Miami there is an organization called the Homeless Voice.
I'm not exactly sure what they do but all I know is that there is a bum on every street corner (literally, there is one right by my house where 3 or 4 bums are ALWAYS begging) and they all wear orange "homeless voice' teeshirts.

I hate them. I feel sorry for them; just because they look so dirty and pathetic.
But screw them; I really hate people who beg for money. Don't ask me for anything- it is money I have earned.
Anyone can go stick a can in your face and ask for change.

I just wish they would dissapear. If you aren't going to impact the community in a positive way; just go live your last days underneath a causeway and leave everyone alone.

i feel bad for them...when i can i always give a buck. i always ask what they are going to do with it, and them watch them lie about buying coffee as i smell alcohol on their breath. =D

instead of making a speech on finding a job and shat, i know how hard it is, i just give em a buck...its only a buck.

You're doing nothing but making it worse for them by just giving them money. if nobody gave them anything, they'd be forced to straighten up and try and clean up their act. but because they know they can just beg and get along like that, that's what they do.

 

yea i agree with you, i always feel really bad and i give them whatever change i have on me or a dollar, but a still think they should get a job, i mean how hard is it to find one

 

spend $5 seconds to give them a dollar, spend many more to teach them to earn one.

if they dont get their dollar, they commit crimes.

its just easier, and no problem for me, to give them a dollar. i also feel better at the end, because not all are drunks.

 

of course not. the others are crack addicts, pot smokers, strip bar patrons and heroin shooters.

 

My policy is "dont feed the animals"
it applies to worthless bums as well.
