That's gotta hurt.
I'm driving along going 140kmph on this back road by my house around 11pm the other night and I hit a massive pothole. I don't know if it should even be called a pot hole because the entire road just sort of rises sharply.. Anyway, I hit it so hard that sparks came from the bottom of my car.
I hope I haven't broken or bent anything.. like the body.

one time, I was going about 10mph... hit a pothole so deep that the whole car dropped and hit the ground. It was so deep that it stoped me dead in my tracks. Had to restart the car, back up and go around it. it was late and it had just rained, so I couldn't quite see that there was even a pothole there. Couldn't find any damage to the car, but it slamed down onto the ground hard.

I feel sorry for your car for being driven by you.

Obviously common sense isn't too common because you'd probably not be going 88 mph on a road.
Once I hit a pothole, well, a hole, on bqe 278 (new york). It's always a busy high way for trucks and trailers so they create tons of holes in this busy highway. They always had to repair the holes and makes even more traffic. I mean, some of the holes are just ridiculous. Anyway, it was like 11pm and at that time I had a 3rd gen prelude with 16 inches rims. Needless to say a tire went flat.
When I got off the highway, there was another van changing tires who hit the same hole. Then soon a BMW 3 series came, it had two flat tires from hitting the same hole. Then another accord came (latino dude with 20 inch chrome rims) and it too hit the same hole. It was not even funny.
I changed the tires a few days later (parked my car there), soon someone stole my car and took everything, and damaged the steering assembly/column (less than a month owning the car!). I had it sold. Lost a few grands in the process. Sold my civic as well, and bought a 4th gen 96 prelude.
Man that sucked.
But now I would rev my prelude like mad and enjoy every single drive.

I have to admit that if I'd be going slower, I would have been able to slow down to 30kmph and would have gone over the bump without incident. I have been on that road recently, but there's a new subdivision going in and the road gets torn up with heavy equipment frequently. However, if common sense was the only factor governing the human psyche as it relates to automotive travel, it's plausible there would be no muscle cars, sports cars, 2 seaters or anything capable of going over 50mph.
I wasn't really looking for a bunch of static when I posted. Sure, I was speeding, but don't believe that I'm the only one who speeds on lonely roads late at night, especially among enthusiasts.
