Assuming $500 a month for 48 months plus $1000 down, that would be $25k. Take out 6% interest (I don't feel like figuring out the compound) and that's ~$23.5k, so I'm figuring it's an '00-'01 model. Or there might be more payments.

Hmm you'll have a very nice car and then die of hunger. Its amazing how we've become a nation of status symbols. People hold 2, 3 or even 4 jobs just to go around telling people they can afford to have nice things. My brother and my sis in law together make close to $110k a year and they can't even imagine spending $10k to buy a USED SUV even though they desperately need one. Guess having priorities like owning a house, furnishing said house, etc is more important than owning a fancy automobile.

Not being judgemental, but from your posts you appear to have your priorities messed up. But hey who am I to say anything.

bigger home > cooler car

its just that some people spend a lot of time in their cars and "need" something nice then again people can also be a house whore too with expensive furniture and plasma tvs so :gives:

The house was an example... I make more than she does in an hour and when I pay bills off at the end of the month I have maybe $50 to my name. All I am saying is that this is a country so obsessed with material needs that they reach the end of 30 and having a gazillion dollars in credit card debts. But, like I said who am I to say anything. To me having a nice car but living in a card board box and eating ramen noodles is not very idealistic, I'd rather have a nice roof over my head and have money in the bank for a rainy day.

congrats, but that's working a little too hard for the car payments. i wouldn't have bought my car if i had less than half of what the car was worth on a down payment.
