i noticed there was a tear in the knee of my pants this morning and decided to sew them. it wasnt a hole just a tear, so i hand sewed them back and they look fine. When i was doing it my friend walked in. he gave me an odd stare then started insulting the fact that i could sew. i really dont care, they needed sewed. do u guys think its f'ed up for a guy to know how to sew.

no, i don't. i actually need to sew a rip in a good pair on jeans that i have. just need to buy a needle. h:

i sew. i dont see nothing wrong with that. i use the needle, sewing machine, etc. just not crocheting, not that theres anything wrong with knowing how to.

yeah i need to sew, just yesterday i ripped my two best pairs of jeans, it sucked

Seems like your friend is still young and lives with his/her parents. I wish I would have learned how to sew from my mom when I lived with her. I had to learn by myself. Knowing how to do that kind of stuff pays off when mommy and daddy aren't around to buy you a new article of clothing and you have to start paying it for yourself.

I think it's great when a guy knows how to sew. I wish my husband knew, because it seems like I'm always putting on a new button or fixing a tear for him. Maybe I'll teach him. :dunno:

My grandma taught my dad how to sew, because she felt it was important for him to be self sufficient. He's really good at it -- he can even embroider designs or names in script by hand. :eek3:

i can sew buttons back on, and i could probably fix a rip. i learned in jr. high school. glad i did too, i t would suck having to ask someone to do it for me (although my girl likes to sew and stuff so it's not too bad anymore).
