PC Turning off on it own.
I had a computer that the mother board bridge kept over heating on me. so I opened it and had a fan blow into it. worked fine for a while, then the mother board decided it had enough and blew up on me. sparks flew out, it was cool..... but it might be the cpu overheating. I built a computer and used the stock fan and it just wasn't enough for it. it was getting really hot and hitting the failsafe and shuting off. that might be it. if your mb has a heat sensor I would check to see what your cpu core temperture is. you might just need new thermal greese and cpu fan. or it might be your powersupply going out on you.
I'll check into this... Thanks.

if it shows less that 12 volts , the you have a bad P/S

mine shuts off too...
when i do something rigorous like shrink a dvd it just shuts down without warning
so i unplugged some fans and it does it less often but i think ill need to get a fan too :happysad:

I would agree with Will.
Seems like a heat issue. Are you overclocking?
I have that issue if I OC too high, system resets, due to it getting too hot (chip and/or inside case)

Well we've got 2 things to look at.
1. power supply. possibly going bad, get a voltometer and check it. this should be the 1st thing you replace.
2. overheating. check all fans to make sure they are spinning properly, i would suggest replacing the cpu fan 2nd if the PSU doesn't help.
also i suggest downloading a program called "Motherboard Monitor" and let it monitor your cpu fans and temp etc. its a nice tool for such a matter as this.
