jp i dont have a problem with trying to cut down on the illegal chat particularly, but i think that everyone would be happier if the board adapted to the needs of its users rather than users having to adapt to the board.
Look at it from the standpoint of potential sponsors, and their sensitivity to the issues that street racing raises. It's not hard to see why Daniel and the rest of the Administration has made the decision to no longer allow discussion of illegal racing on the board. There's no excuse not to take it to the track. The risks involved in racing on the street affect everyone. And IMHO, we needed to take a stand against this a long time ago.

throw in a disclaiming saying HAN nor its sponsors condone illegal street racing.

The risks and impact of streetracing go far beyond what a disclaimer can effectively convey. IMHO, it's a good thing for HAN to not only distance itself from illegal racing, but to encourage members to participate in legal events, like the regional SCCA auto-crosses & sanctioned 1/4 mi dragstrip racing.

But all of this discussion is beside the point. HAN has made its position on illegal racing very clear in the revised and updated Terms Of Service. The TOS is now linked to all forums, and the Admins and Mods will be enforcing the rules of the TOS without exception.

That said, I personally want to thank all of you for your understanding and co-operation.

As a prospective member of SEMA, we must take this action to be in accordance with their philosophy.
