btw, what kind of computer is it? 2500 is a bit much if its not like a MACh or falcon northwest.

im taking a Law class now. dont get a lawyer for $2500. If it was a gift to you, you don't have to pay him back. He can sue you for whatever he wants, but the judge will make you pay what the price of the computer was. If he sues you, take it to an Arbitration. Its like people's court. A qualified judge(arbitrator) will determine the outcome of a suit. In all seriousness, you dont need a lawyer

consulting a lawyer costs $0. If the lawyer wants money then I'd go look for another one.
Like I said no one is qualified to give legal advice here. I myself graduated from UC Berkeley with a Legal Studies (pre-law) degree.
Consulting a lawyer is still a good idea.

yes most lawyers (most not all) do not charge for the initial consultation.
